The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2011 at the very inception of Sur Institute of Technology & Sports Complex. The department started with a 4 years B.Tech course with an intake capacity of 60 seats. It has an eminent pool of highly experienced academicians & industry persons as faculty & technical staff members.

Electrical Engineering is a professional core engineering discipline that deals with the generation of electricity from different power plants, design of power plants, transmission of the generated power using transmission lines, design of transmission and distribution systems, medium voltage and high voltage transmission of power, distribution of generated power to different industries, commercial customers, domestic consumers and also in agricultural areas. This discipline also deals with designing of different machines for power plants, industry applications, home appliances and many more. This world needs Electrical Engineers and without them we cannot move a single step.

Electrical engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from IT (to handle projects related to electrical engineering and many more) through to international companies.

Started in the year 2011, the Department of Electrical Engineering prepares students to address the most compelling real-world electrical challenges, backed by sound knowledge, integrity, research, and innovation.
